Roof Cleaning -- before and after

A Clean Roof Means Better Drying

A very important key to maintaining a cedar shake roof is to keep it dry. Meaning that after a rainfall, the cedar shake roof needs to be allowed to dry, as quickly as possible. Keeping the shakes free of moss, fungus, debris (twigs, pine and fir debris, leaves, etc.) or any thing that can trap and hold moisture are essential. In addition we recommend removing overhanging tree branches at a sufficient height to provide air circulation above the roof and allow sunlight, these measures will help promote the drying process. Properly caring for your roof can lengthen the life of your roof, and in some cases even allow you to exceed it’s recommended life expectancy.

By keeping the roof free from these organisms, and allowing it to dry, your roof will not age or deteriorate prematurely, preventing an unexpected early replacement –in essence saving you tens of thousands of dollars depending on your roof size and type.

Roof Cleaning for Shake Roofs

Our roof cleaning service consists of high flow light water blow-off,
low pressure to remove debris and air cleaning for older and fragile roofs.

Composition Shingles

Moss, algae, lichens & mildew break down the bond between the granules and the asphalt shingle. The granules protect the asphalt from ultra violet light, which breaks down the asphalt. Tree debris on the roof is cleaned away gently with compressed air or by gently washing the shingle in order to avoid shingle damage! After cleaning, an application of Moss Out can be applied to assist in preventing the moss from coming back!

Alpine Roof Care also offers general pressure washing services for your driveway, patio’s and decks, sport courts and siding.
